Mr Mileji is a partner in the Firm who joined in March 2022. Mr Mileji has over 16 years of good standing at the Bar, as member of the Law Association of Zambia. He previously worked in the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) for over 9 years in the departments of International Law and Agreement (ILA) and Governance Department from 2006 to the year 2015. His duties and responsibilities at MOJ included giving legal opinions to various Government ministries and departments on issues of international law, human rights, commercial and fiscal law and general agreements where government had an interest. He participated in negotiations in commercial transactions and other international agreements where government had an interest, both at national and international forums.

Mr Mileji was also assigned to various government projects as the legal advisor both at national and international fora such as the Kazungula Bridge Project where he was the legal advisor for Zambia from 2009 to 2015. Furthermore, he was a focal point for the Ministry of Justice for the public-private partnership (PPP) unit and was trained under the auspices of IP3 Institute of Washington, USA.

From November 2015 to March 2022, Mr Mileji worked for ZESCO Limited, a Zambia Power Utility company, where he rose to a position of Chief Legal Officer Litigation for Northern and Copperbelt Divisions. Mr Mileji’s duties and responsibilities, in addition to the usual litigation and attending to commercial transactions and negotiations on behalf of ZESCO, included being legal advisor on the following: the project between ZESCO Limited and Masen, a power utility company from Morocco, to deal with renewable energy which includes solar, geothermal and wind; the project between ZESCO Limited and SNEL SA, a power utility company from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), which intends to establish a Luapula Hydro Power station on the Luapula river; and membership of a sub-committee charged with a responsibility to establish a Secretariat of the Joint Operations Technical Committee (JOTC), a technical committee comprising of the power utility companies for Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.

Mr Mileji is an arbitrator and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of the United Kingdom and is peritus in the following fields of law: Public International Law, Human Rights, Employment and Labour Law, Environmental Law, Mining, Energy, Land Law, Company and Commercial Law, Construction Law, Tax, and Investment Law.
